To a growing group of those in the know, the name SAMWOY signals epic, genre-warping music that cuts through the Canadian landscape with rare force. Led by Montreal-based auteur Sam Woywitka, the project has evolved into a powerhouse collective of the city’s most adventurous musicians. SAMWOY’s tracks veer from ambient serenity and lush orchestration to explosive synths and distorted rhythms, all anchored by Woywitka’s obsession with emotional extremes. His sophomore album Even Sad Boys Like To Have Fun is out now and has become a breakthrough release, charting on Earshot for 48 consecutive weeks while earning national and international attention.
