Woes

Woes is a 30 year old alt/rap artist born in Chicago. After failing to finish high school & getting kicked out of college while studying music, Woes quickly found his voice defying authority. As a young middle eastern adult he became fixated on systemic oppression. After leaving college, the city of Chicago became Woes' greatest professor. Woes is the definition of DIY. After recognizing the corruption & politics in the music industry, Woes quickly became known for his guerrilla marketing tactics & his "by any means necessary" attitude in Chicago. Over the last 3 years he's been seen numerous times outside of music festivals rapping from the roof of box trucks, in the middle of streets, or quite literally climbing a billboard to spray his name on the festival lineup advertisement. Previously Woes attended SXSW unofficially - bringing a reclaimed city payphone creating the "Woes Phone." Using the phone as a microphone, Woes was seen performing around Austin accompanied by drummer Dominic Folino, using the streets as their stage. Woes has quickly made it known he is not the type to ask for permission. He has something to say and has made it clear nobody will get in the way of that.
