Her recent hometown show at ACL Live’s 3TEN sold out, with local outlets noting a packed room from the first song. Melodic Magazine, KUTX, Women That Rock, and grrrlmusic have praised her singles “til it bites” and “beside you (so boring)” for their explosive vocals and refined pop-rock sound. Drawing from influences ranging from ’90s hip-hop rhythms to gritty pop-punk guitar tones, her writing—described as both “honest and clever”—moves between tender reflection and cutting wordplay. She writes from the moments that don’t get closure, exploring queer heartache and the chaos of your mid-20s. This emotional push-and-pull fuels her second EP, Lily, inspired by the queer cult classic Imagine Me & You, released in February 2026. A former Division I athlete and three-time NCAA top finisher at the University of Texas, Barb still thrives on collective energy—these days, it lives in the Austin music scene.
