The Eric Hisaw Band

The Eric Hisaw Band is a roots rock’n’roll trio based in Austin, Tx. The 2025 Flak Records release Otra Vez draws on influences ranging from John Lee Hooker, Jerry Lee Lewis & Link Wray filtered through a 1960’s Nuggets era garage rock sensibility. The bulk of the material was developed while Hisaw was laid up with a gunshot wound from a wayward bullet that entered his family’s southeast Austin home. Using small Fender amps, lots of tremolo, Silvertone & telecaster guitars, Hisaw, drummer Shawn Peters and bassist Ron McRae create a rough and tumble, driving sound to support Hisaw’s literate tales of outsiders living on the fringes of the American dream. Since McRae’s departure to Eugene, OR, bass duties have been filled by Jimmy Pettit (of the great 80’s Joe Ely Band) who has brought his own unique raw power rock’n’roll spirit to the band’s live show.
