Stalefish

Stalefish is a 6 piece rock/pop band based in Austin, TX. Coming off of their 2025 EP, 'New Pop Experiments Vol. 1', the band is currently finishing their 3rd LP, 'Bueno', recorded in the first two weeks of 2026. Contrary to their bedroom studio/DI upbringing, this is their first attempt at recording the basic tracks live, minimizing overdubs. It is an effort to inject the raw energy of their live performances into their recordings. Stalefish has 3 lead singers/songwriters: Dalton Hausman, Jake Magee, and producer turned bandmate Sam Franklin. The resulting songs are about love and heartbreak, infatuation, loneliness, and skepticism of the current music landscape. Inspired by artists like Ween, Wilco, and Teenage Fanclub, the band offers a collection of their patented ‘90s/’00s style rock, complete with synthesizer, saxophone, glockenspiel, guitar solos, and funky, odd time signatures. Dubbing themselves the “hardest working slacker rock band”, Stalefish has always operated under a true DIY ethos.
