Nigerian-born, London-based singer, songwriter, musician, and producer Steven Bamidele is known for his distinctive reverb-drenched falsetto, synth textures, and syncopated beats. Citing the influences of contemporary creators Frank Ocean, Tyler the Creator, Solange and Childish Gambino, he puts social commentary and artistic narratives at the forefront of his music. His recent sophomore album THE CRASH! was written against the backdrop of an ever-changing world, combining indie-soul and jazz, acoustic and electronic textures, along with daydream-esque storytelling. The LP received support from Blues Project, Somewhere Soul, BBC Radio 3, BBC 6Music, BBC Introducing, WorldwideFM, Clash, Wordplay and Fusicology, alongside playlisting from Jazz FM, FIP Radio France and KCRW. To critical acclaim, he has headlined London’s iconic 100 Club, Brighton's Dome Studio and Prince Albert, Jazz re:freshed, Pizza Express Live Soho and more. Steven has supported renowned artists Alice Russell, Sly5thAve, Hot 8 Brass Band, Marlon Craft, Kymara, Ebi Soda, while making festival appearances at We Out Here, Love Supreme, Shambala, The Great Escape, Brick Lane Jazz, SXSW London and beyond.
