Avanti Patel

Avanti Patel is a multi genre Musician based out of Mumbai- A hindustani classical vocalist, playback singer, theatre maker & composer. She started learning Hindustani Classical Vocals at age 5 and is currently training with Padmashri Vidushi Ashwini Bhide Deshpande of the Jaipur Atrauli Gharana. Among her most recent projects is O Gaanewali, a theatre-concert-piece based on the lives and music of the Courtesans, Tawaifs and Women performers in India. O Gaanewali has been widely performed, with over 75 live shows across several Indian cities and festivals like Jashn-e-Rekhta, Magnetic Fields in Rajasthan, Serendipity Arts Festival in Goa, and legacy venues like The Royal Opera House and Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai. Avanti is currently producing her 2nd EP titled 'O Gaanewali Session 2', after the success of her debut EP released last year, titled ‘O Gaanewali Session 1’. Both EPs include the genres of Thumri, Dadra, Ghazal with a classic ‘old world meets contemporary’ style of production, available on all music streaming platforms and on Youtube.
